The New York City based trio known as Greta’s Bakery come from diverse backgrounds but ultimately came together through their love and appreciation for music. Blending eclectic jazz, pop and funk together with sensual grooves, Greta’s Bakery delivers with their Decca/Universal debut, The Edge of Everything. The three main chefs—Greta Panettieri, Mike LaValle, and Andrea Sammartino—stir together ingredients ranging from jazz to reggae-infused pop. Experiencing their songs is like discovering a familiar flavor with a new zest. Listeners who haven’t stepped inside the aromatic world of Greta’s Bakery are in luck.
The ‘Bakery’ has been compared to the greatest bands and singers as such as Sade, Michael Jackson, Swing out Sister, Steely Dan, Flora Purim, but it’s clear since the first listen that this band has its own musical personality and a very refreshing sound.
“After having been away for almost 11 years from Italy and Europe, we feel like sharing all the different experiences and the musical growth with our people. In 2009 we had a chance to tour around Europe with Joe Jackson, as we were opening for him, and it’s been wonderful, anywhere we’d go it was a success, and it really showed us that the European audience would very much appreciate and enjoy our music…”.
In this new European Tour Greta’s Bakery will be accompanied by 2 great Italian talents: Daniele Mencarelli on bass and Stefano Tamborrino on drums.
Greta's Bakery has collaborated with great musicians, producers & songwriters such as: Diane Warren, Curtis King, Poogie Bell,Terri Lynn Carrington, Sadro Albert, Robert Irving III, Paulinho Braga, Mitch Forman, Chico Batera, Arthur Maia, Oscar Castro Neeves, Sandro Albert, Nona Hendrix, Toninho Horta, Romero Lobambo, Patricia Romania and many others.
